Maestra Agent for Ableton Live

Your Ableton session,in conversation

Maestra reads the session, works in bars, tracks and devices, makes the change and reads it back to confirm it landed. It remembers your project between sessions.

It asks before anything destructive, and you watch every step land in the session.

Works with

  • Ableton

What Maestra can do

Less setup. More time for the experiments.

All of it directly in your Ableton session.

The tedious work

The boring stuff that blocks your flow state.

  • Colour and rename a messy project by track type and by what is actually on each track
  • Duplicate channels, clips and devices, route sends, and name all of it in one pass
  • Trim levels, sends and any device setting across many tracks at once
  • Set up a mix bus chain or a sidechain, and the devices appear on your tracks in the right order
  • Find the small things that ruin the flow: the hi-hats you copied off grid, the device that mutes a track, the sound with a harsh resonance

The ambitious work

The list of experiments you keep meaning to do, but never find the time for.

  • A 99-layer instrument rack, balanced, with macros mapped across every layer. You heard that right
  • Modulation on as many parameters as you like at once, for movement you can feel
  • Parallel buses, with pitched, reversed and re-warped copies and return chains, routed and glued
  • Slight chord variations, or different versions of your favourite presets, side by side to compare
  • A performance setup: scenes, follow actions and launch quantisation laid out for the set, so you practise the gig instead of the session logic

Between sessions

It gets to know your work

Open the project again. Maestra brings its notes from the last session.

Persistent, intelligent memory

You don't have to explain your session. Maestra reads it as it runs and loads that context again the next time you open the project. There are no chats to manage: you keep managing your Ableton projects and Maestra follows along. Across projects it learns your preferences and quirks: the kick you keep coming back to, your secret-sauce mastering chain, the off-grid swing that makes your tracks groove.

Style

Ask it to learn from your own projects, on your machine, and it picks up what you reach for and how you like things to sound. It then suggests in your language, not a generic one. And beyond the facts of a project, it learns how they hang together: why you make the choices you make, and what makes a track sound like yours.

Rack it up

Point it at a folder of old projects and pick the tracks you want to keep. Every chain you built becomes a preset in your User Library in one pass, samples and all, filed project by project and ready for the agent to load the next time you ask for that sound. Nothing you built needs building twice.

Trust

Why you can trust Maestra

Built so the session stays in your hands. The privacy page says the same thing in full.

It asks first

Anything that deletes or overwrites waits for your yes, every time.

Every step on screen

You see each action land in the session as it happens, and it reads the result back.

Your project files stay put

Style analysis and preset building run on your machine. Your project files are never uploaded.

What we keep

Requests go to an EU provider that keeps nothing after the reply and trains on none of it. With usage data on, we keep the text of your requests and Maestra's replies, after the app automatically removes the file paths, links, email addresses and long numbers it can recognise.

Your music is yours

Your sessions, your sounds, your rights. Your music, audio and project files never leave your computer.

Honest about Live's limits

Some things no tool can do through Live's API: save, export, reorder or group tracks. Maestra says so rather than pretending.

Around Maestra Agent

How it hears, and where it goes next

Today

Ear

Ear is how Maestra listens. It hears a few bars of your session and tells you what is actually going on in the mix, so Maestra can act on what it hears rather than what it assumes. On Suite it listens while you work; on any edition you drop in a bounce.

Coming

TouchDesigner

A Maestra Agent for TouchDesigner is in development with a partner, for the people who build the image as well as the sound.
